Aquatics Leads are responsible for the care and safety all guests and employees at Dutch Wonderland Inn. Leads will oversee the day-to-day operation in their assigned area as well as assist with administrative duties.We are currently looking for a:

Supervisory Duties:Ā
Assist with the daily supervisionĀ of theĀ AquaticsĀ team and any other assigned departmentsĀ
Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation ofĀ Dutchj WonderlandāsĀ core valuesĀ
Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team membersĀ
BecomeĀ knowledgeable ofĀ performing the essential duties of allĀ aquatics and lifeguardingĀ positions and backfill theseĀ positions when neededĀ
Participate inĀ new-hire orientation and training activities for all assigned employeesĀ
Ensure lifeguard rotations are within the Ellis and Associates standardsĀ
Ensure lifeguards are exceeding the Ellis and Associates standardsĀ
Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA lawĀ
Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesĀ
ĀDepartmental Duties:Ā
Delight all guests by quickly and expertly providing courteous assistance to address their questions or concerns.Ā
Stay alert when assigned to swimming areas to ensure guest safety.Ā
Oversee daily morning checks for water attractions and waterslide testingĀ
Oversee daily pool cleanings, tube field testing, and in-service classes for assigned teamĀ
Respond to all radio calls and properly log down time on rides in Dispatch stationĀ
Provide bathroom breaks for all team members, as neededĀ
Render first-aid (within scope of knowledge) to injured guests or team membersĀ
Handle operation-related guest concerns and assist with lost childrenĀ
Escalate major guest concerns to management or maintenance team in a timely mannerĀ
MaintainĀ constantĀ vigilance and proactively identify potential hazards; informĀ Park leadership and/or maintenance teamĀ of any such situations in a timely mannerĀ
Ensure that all Park areas are clean and free of hazards, prior to daily openingĀ
React in a calm and professional manner during emergency situationsĀ
Assist with crowd control in emergency situationsĀ
Ensure pre-opening and closing check lists are done by Aquatics team membersĀ
Update and ensure proper Zone Coverage and Zone Validations are done for each spot in the parkĀ
All other duties assigned by leadershipĀ

Education and Experience:Ā
No education requirements for thisĀ positionĀ
1+ year of previous lifeguard experience desiredĀ
Must successfully complete the Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program before becoming a lifeguard atĀ Dutch Wonderland Inn. Ā AllĀ Lifeguard candidates will be requiredĀ toĀ obtain the Ellis Lifeguard Certification instructional handbook and pass allĀ certification requirements.Ā (Swim 200 yards doing front crawl or breaststroke; Retrieve 10-lb brick from 11 ft of water; and tread water without hands for 2 minutes)Ā

Language:Ā Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Ā
