Responsibilities

What you can expect to do.

Uncover the light and potential in each student by diagnosing and addressing learning, social, and emotional skill gaps. Collaborate with school teams and families to offer personalized guidance and deliver SESI鈥檚 own evidence-based learning and instructional models, as well as positive behavioral interventions and support framework. You鈥檒l inspire, empower, and transform with our innovative learning approach, unique instructional environments, smaller class sizes, and the support services students need to shine.

The Transition Coordinator will be responsible for providing academic, emotional, and physical services for students who require additional support to thrive in school. They will collaborate with special education teachers, social workers, and administrators to help students age 14 and up prepare for the transition from high school to successful post-secondary. The Transition Coordinator must be willing and able to work with students on job and life skills, community-based instruction, college and career readiness. Any experience with job corps programs, post-secondary academic institutions, or Serve-Safe or Pro-Start training (culinary arts) is a plus. The Transition Coordinator must be willing to spend time making connections in the community that will promote school and benefit students' post-secondary success. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we鈥檙e looking to hire an exceptional transition coordinator who will play an essential role in fueling student success.

路 Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

路 Use SESI鈥檚 instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students.

路 Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.

路 Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff.

路 Maintain student documents such as individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.

路 Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.

路 Supervise and monitor students, including to and from locations within the school.


Qualifications

What we expect of you.

路 Bachelor鈥檚 degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required.

路 Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role preferred (secondary special education).

路 Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.

路 Adaptability and flexibility.
