Are you an experienced Human Resources professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a HR Generalist to serve as a trusted HR partner to plant employees and leadership. In this role, you will support employee relations, workforce planning, compliance, performance management, and engagement initiatives that contribute to a productive, safe, and high-performing workplace.

This role will be largely involved with our manufacturing employee group but will also support other functions based in Lansing. Working hours are initially standard day shifts but may move in the future to a split shift model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and supervisors on HR-related questions, concerns, and processes.
  • Partner with plant leadership on staffing needs, workforce planning, employee engagement, and operational HR initiatives.
  • Support employee relations matters, including conducting investigations, advising on corrective actions, and coaching leaders through performance management processes.
  • Administer HR policies, procedures, records, and compliance activities in alignment with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support labor relations activities, grievance processes, and collective bargaining agreement interpretation where applicable.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and assist with training, development, safety, and culture-building initiatives across the plant.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting employee relations, HR compliance, and performance management processes.
  • Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, sound judgment, and confidentiality.
