Summary 

In this position, you will provide support to the Materials Manager by coordinating all manufacturing planning assignments and projects, and by ensuring a smooth flow of materials from the supplier through delivery to our customers. This requires engaging internal and external customers, including team members in manufacturing, sales/marketing, purchasing, and materials management. You will translate customer demands into a production schedule and communicates that schedule to all parties, determining potential shortages and proactively planning for meeting customer demands.  

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Determine customer demands by working directly with customers and teams from sales/marketing and sales planning 
  • Determine best prices from various vendors and create purchasing orders  
  • Monitor customer portals and communicate demand changes, inventory discrepancies, production calendars, customer communications, and supplier scorecard
  • Create schedule to meet customer demands and communicate to manufacturing teams, quality, and materials management (shipping)
  • Work with materials inventory specialist, purchasing, and quality teams to determine and communicate production shortages
  • Attend manufacturing department meetings to increase communication and determine issues for meeting customer demands and elevate issues to proper teams
  • Perform system transactions to ensure proper inventory management of finished goods
  • Assist with the execution of consistent planning, scheduling, and resource management processes
  • Analyze schedule and material use to identify developing problem areas including slow-moving material, discontinued/obsolete material, short shelf life material, and expedited material
  • Coordinate with Engineering to determine and manage ECN implementation dates and complete ECN data entry related to material planning and purchasing
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to finished goods inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely
  • Create a four-week production schedule for module plant to support customer demand and update and communicate changes daily
  • Make KPI monthly (in Excel) and track cost savings activities for part leader 
  • Manage training of new hires
  • Work closely with the accounting team to compile and submit all documents involved in the purchasing process  
  • Identify process, productivity, scheduling principles, and other improvements
  • Submit documents to headquarters in Korea as needed  
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    1. Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    2. Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field required or equivalent, relevant experience

 

Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain related field, with emphasis on scheduling, planning, and inventory control functions preferred
  • Experience using SAP is preferred
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes preferred
