Summary:

As the Sr. Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety, you will lead a team dedicated to ensuring workplace safety and compliance with regard to state and federal occupational health and safety regulations and standards. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee one or more plant-wide safety, health and/or environmental programs
  • Lead and manage the ISO 14001 certification process and lead the Environmental Compliance Team to drive continuous improvement in all environmental programs
  • Ensure effective hazard identification and mitigation for plant operations and administrative offices
  • Conduct daily line walks to ensure SH&E practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any SH&E related policies/regulations 
  • Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements across the organization
  • Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions
  • Conduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessments
  • Participate in emergency response drills and critiques
  • Conduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other SH&E related training topics.
  • Develop/update site specific programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or related field; MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Professional certification (ASP/CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred

Experience:

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience evaluating and improving EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
  • Experience managing ISO 14001:2015 certification
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with OSHA, EPA and state/local regulations and requirements
  • Knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology, chemicals, and pneumatics a plus
