Overview

It is the responsibility of the Casino Controller to oversee and administer all aspects and functionality of Casino Accounting and the Count Room.  In addition, the Casino Controller will respond as required to internal/external auditors, regulatory agencies and tax authorities.  This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity). 


Responsibilities

  • Oversee Casino Audit in the performance of daily work and compilation of numbers for the daily operating report.
  • Manage the month-end closing of the casino accounting records.
  • Review supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare monthly gaming tax returns; quarterly and annual licenses.
  • Respond to questions and requests from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Internal Revenue Service, Internal/External Auditors and other regulatory agencies.
  • Review and sign checks as requested.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare end of year filings including W-2G’s and 1042’s.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Casino Accounting Manager.
  • Count Room Manager.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Ability to manage employees, training and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Excel applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting/auditing functions and knowledge of Gaming Control Board Minimum Internal Control Standards.
  • Knowledge of Count Room procedures and accounting for gaming revenues.
  • Knowledge of cage transactions and procedures.
  • Knowledge of casino department’s revenue transactions and procedures.
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
  • Bachelor’s or related degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years progressive experience, including holding managerial roles, in or related to casino accounting.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
