About the Job

  • The Radiology Veterinary Assistant will work directly under the supervision of our board-certified radiologist, providing patient support during advanced imaging procedures and assisting with the clerical and administrative tasks necessary to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient care. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a specialist while contributing to multiple departments throughout the hospital.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Assist the board-certified radiologist during advanced imaging procedures, including ultrasound, CT, and other diagnostic imaging services
  • Safely restrain patients for imaging studies while ensuring patient comfort and minimizing stress
  • Monitor and assist with patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia for imaging procedures
  • Prepare patients and imaging areas prior to procedures
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, treatment sheets, and diagnostic documentation
  • Assist with data entry, report management, and other clerical duties related to the radiology service
  • Facilitate communication between doctors, technicians, and client service teams to support seamless patient care
  • Ensure radiology equipment and workspaces remain clean, organized, and stocked
  • Provide compassionate care and attention to patients throughout their diagnostic workup
  • Support other hospital departments during slower periods as needed

What You Will Bring

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
  • Strong patient handling and restraint skills with a focus on fear-free, compassionate care
  • Experience working with sedated and anesthetized patients preferred
  • Understanding of basic veterinary anatomy, physiology, and patient monitoring
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment
  • Exceptional communication skills and commitment to outstanding client service
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to assist across multiple departments
  • Open availability and flexibility to accommodate the radiologist's schedule
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and grow professionally

Schedule

  • Schedule will be determined based on the radiologist's service hours. Open availability and scheduling flexibility are highly preferred. Opportunities to assist other departments may be available during slower periods.

Compensation

  • $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
