Event Security Staff

Part Time/ On-Call

This position is largely a customer service role with some specific security responsibilities. Roles and responsibilities determined by event.

Basic Job Duties:

• Follow instructions provided by Event Security Supervisor at beginning of each shift.
• Stand post at gates and authorize entry/exit of racers, visitors, media, and invited guests. 
• Verify ticket (may require stubbing or scanning) or credential prior to entry.
• Perform bag and/or car searches.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to proactively preserve order and protect property.
• Ensure visitors, patrons, racers, media, and invited guests obey LVMS rules and policies. In the event of infractions of LVMS rules and policies, inform supervisor of the infraction and parties involved. Never apprehend or evict violators from premises without authorization from supervisor.
• Interact with customers to answer questions or instruct them of LVMS policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements:

• Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time (most posts require standing for the length of shift).
• Able to fluently speak and comprehend the English language (includes being an active listener).
• Able to see details at close or far ranges.
• Able to interact with visitors and guests and maintain positive customer service standards.
• Able to learn, maintain, and enforce LVMS policies and procedures and general Public Safety efforts to maintain safe events.
• Able to remain attentive, observant, and monitor surroundings with critical thinking and problem sensitivity in order to perform tasks and maintain safe events.
• Able to negotiate, resolve, and avoid potential conflicts with emotional control.
• Able to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with peers, coworkers, supervisors, and patrons.
• Able to accept direction from others including supervisors.
• Able to inspect equipment, structures, or materials and identify potential problems.
• Able at least 50 lbs.
• A valid drivers license is required
