The Staff Pad is proud to partner witha leading healthcare organization in Lawrence, MA and we are seeking afull-time Receptionist to support a Primary Care and Community Geriatricspractice.
This role is an integral part of thehealthcare team and is responsible for providing a welcoming patient experiencewhile supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the practice.

WhatYou'll Do
KeyResponsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and business representatives and direct them to the appropriate team member
- Answer incoming calls, respond to routine inquiries, and route calls as appropriate
- Take messages and forward calls to voicemail or the appropriate staff member
- Monitor staff locations to help facilitate smooth communication and clinic operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting room
- Support patients experiencing concerns or disruptive behaviors using active listening and de-escalation techniques, escalating issues to the appropriate clinical leadership when necessary
- Provide intake services for new and established patients and direct them to the appropriate healthcare team member
- Assist patients with intake documentation and other required paperwork
- Schedule, coordinate, and manage patient appointments, including recalls and follow-up visits
- Answer routine patient questions and assist patients in accessing appropriate healthcare or community services
- Maintain and update electronic patient records in the Athena EMR
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the healthcare team, including preparing reports, letters, notices, and scanning documents
- File, organize, and archive patient records to ensure information can be located and retrieved efficiently
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record
- Help ensure the smooth operation of the reception and administrative areas
- Identify barriers to providing quality service and proactively communicate potential solutions
- Support patients, colleagues, visitors, and community partners in accessing the information and services they need
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WhatWe Are Looking For
- Fluency in Spanish is required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Professional, welcoming, and patient-focused approach
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information and documentation
- Ability to remain calm and professional when assisting patients
- Previous healthcare, medical office, or receptionist experience preferred
- Experience with an electronic medical record system, preferably Athena, is a plus
