  Serving Children in More Communities with our Early Intervention Program!
Our Early Intervention Program has expanded to serve children and families in the Greater Lowell area to include eight additional communities.
We serve children and families in Andover, North Andover, Lawrence, and Methuen as well as Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro and Westford.

  

For more than 50 years, Partners in Child Development, a non-profit, human services organization, has been dedicated to nurturing the growth and potential of every child. We are passionate and committed to helping children and their families with programs focused on a child’s development and well-being through Early Intervention services, early childhood education and special education including therapeutic programs for children with complex medical needs. 


As a leader in Early Intervention services, our program has earned a reputation as an invaluable resource for parents, caregivers and children offering therapeutic services that dramatically improve outcomes for children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk for developmental delays. 


All new hires participate in a paid onboarding program learning how Early Intervention helps children and families in home-based settings or childcare sites. This program ensures our new employees are provided with a supportive environment to learn, establish solid working relationships, participate in personal development and mentoring programs, as well as create your own flexible full or part time work schedule.


The Job:


The Music Therapist (MT) is a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing in-home and childcare center EI services for children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk for developmental delays or have a diagnosed disability. This position participates in evaluations, interventions, development, and strategies addressing family outcomes and the child’s individual needs in their Individual Family Service plan (IFSP). The MT uses music to promote development for children in speech and language, social skills, cognitive/attention, physical and motor delays. The MT provides services to clients through coordination and collaboration with team members, public/private and community service providers. The position is based in Lawrence, and will travel to client visits in Lawrence, Andover, North Andover, and Methuen. 


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. Must hold current licensure as a Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) issued by the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5.
  • Experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities on the child’s functioning and development.
  • Must hold current, valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance coverage for travel between home visits.
  •  Must hold and maintain current CPR and First Aid training.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, empathy and compassion for children and families.
  • Sufficient computer and technical skills to complete position required documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, team members and other professionals.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • History of maintaining client confidentiality, professional boundaries, displaying integrity, and credibility.
