Dining Room Host

Position Summary: 

As a Dining Room Host at Keeneland Hospitality, you are the first point of contact for guests entering our dining venues. You are responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow of seating throughout the dining room. Your professionalism and attention to detail help set the tone for an exceptional guest experience in line with Keeneland’s tradition of excellence. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival. Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating assignments to optimize dining room flow. 
• Escort guests to their tables with professionalism and friendliness. 
• Maintain an organized and tidy host station and dining room entrance. 
• Collaborate with servers and management to ensure timely seating and service. 
• Handle guest inquiries and requests with a positive and helpful attitude. 
• Adhere to Keeneland’s standards of guest service and hospitality at all times.
• Assist with light cleaning duties and dining room setup as needed. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Be friendly, approachable, and able to create a positive first impression. 
• Be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
• Work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 
• Be able to stand for extended periods and remain attentive during busy shifts. 
• Be at least 16 years old. 

Licensing Requirements: 

• A valid Fayette County Food Handler’s License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift. 
• A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
