Position Summary

The Will-Call Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of Menehune Water Company products to customers throughout Kauai. This role focuses on loading, transporting, and delivering water to customers who are billed via invoice, and representing MWC professionally at each stop. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle (box truck or route truck) to deliver 5-gallon, Small Pack, and PET products to assigned commercial and residential customers on Kauai.
  • Load, secure, and unload product according to safety and handling standards; perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Assist customers with loading and placement of water product at each delivery stop; all product is billed via invoice, not paid at time of delivery.
  • Verify delivery orders against invoices/manifests; obtain proof-of-delivery signatures and resolve discrepancies on the spot.
  • Represent MWC professionally at every stop, addressing basic customer questions and escalating concerns to the Division Manager as needed.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and vehicle condition reports.
  • Track empty bottle/container returns and manage exchange/deposit processes per company procedure.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Comply with all DOT/FMCSA regulations applicable to the vehicle class operated, and all Hawaii state traffic and safety laws.
  • Support other warehouse or distribution tasks as assigned, particularly during peak periods or staff shortages.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior delivery driving or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift (5-gallon bottles, cases of product).
  • Comfortable using handheld devices, tablets, or route/delivery software.
  • Professional, courteous demeanor when interacting with customers at delivery stops.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and navigate Kauai delivery routes.


Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull loads up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 60+ lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing in and out of a delivery vehicle.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while making deliveries.

Work Schedule

Full-time, typically Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday coverage based on business needs and delivery volume. Early morning start times apply.
