KLKN in Lincoln, NE has an opening for a News Producer who knows how to create meaningful and memorable newscasts while executing the NOW brand.

We're looking for someone with a creative vision. The ideal candidate will know how to win the big story, own breaking news and display important weather information.

The news producer is responsible for the creation of newscasts with fresh content, strong story flow and compelling supporting graphics.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Select, research, and write content for live newscasts
Boothing assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather events

Must be able to think strategically and motivate your team to execute your vision
Act with urgency and immediacy
Ensure story selection and placement fits newsroom standards for vision and growth
Understand our DMA, key target audiences and where they live
Produce engaging and error-free work
Getting live and user-generated content to the newscast, sending push alerts to extend the reach of our work
Write for digital

Qualifications / Requirements :

Great communication skills
Comfortable, confident, and competent news judgment
A college degree in journalism, broadcasting or communication preferred
