JOB TITLE:  Truss Lead

 

JOB LOCATION: Lindon, UT

                                                                                          

FUNCTION:  Participate in the various activities associated with building roof and floor trusses for residential and commercial projects.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.
  • Direct the production of a team of truss assembly workers.
  • Train and lead team in production best practices.
  • Read and understand shop drawings.
  • Accurately set up truss jig for fabrication of trusses.
  • Safely construct floor and roof trusses in accordance to customer expectations and company procedures.
  • Successfully translate work orders and building instructions into a quality finished product.
  • Accurately cut angles in wood for trusses.
  • Hammer gussets/plates onto trusses.
  • Run trusses into roller machine.
  • Move and stack trusses.
  • Operate equipment as trained and in accordance to designated safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical mathematic and measuring skills.
  • Able to function effectively as part of a high-performance production team.
  • Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
  • Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in building trusses.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 50 lbs of force regularly.
  • Repetitive impact motion associated with hammering and other such construction activities.
  • Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
