The company’s automotive center is in Rochester Hills, Michigan which consists of Finance, Sales, Engineering, Testing, Program Management, Human Resources, Purchasing and IT.Website:  HI-LEX.comPOSITION SUMMARY:The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. This position supports the quality assurance process by identifying defects, documenting findings, and communicating with production personnel to ensure continuous improvement. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to perform inspections on various components and assemblies Ability to use Excel software with the ability to generate charts and sort data. Ability to review and judge suspect parts on containment and determine actions. Provides support to Quality Manager, Quality Engineers and Receiving Inspection as required Provide data and charts for (Monthly/weekly/daily report data) as required. Provides technical support to all disciplines as required. Identify and document any nonconformities according to company procedures. Clearly Communicate any quality issues or defects to production staff following the proper communication protocol. Assist with additional quality-related tasks or projects as assigned by the Quality Engineers, or Quality Manager. Support Quality improvement initiatives as needed..  Follow all safety rules and keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition. Perform other duties as assigned.  Qualifications: Education  High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Personal computer skills needed. Functional Experience Skills to use measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Torque Wrench, etc.) Proficient in Excel/Word/Powerpoint. Prior experience with quality systems or inspection processes. Demonstrate competence in written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate competence in basic drawing (engineering drawing) interpretation. Ability to read and interpret inspection documentation, work instructions, and quality criteria.Industry Experience Ideally, the successful candidate will bring a manufacturing background in a fast-paced environment, preferably in automotive. Experience working in organizations where continuous improvement has been part of the company’s culture. Lifts, carries or moves objects – up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time( more than 8 hours daily).  Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
