Adult Education - Childcare
BASIC FUNCTION:
The job of the Childcare provider is to care for participating children from ages of 3 months through 6 years, under the guidance of the Family Literacy Teacher.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Assist the Teacher with providing the children with a prepared environment
Prepare classroom activities and curriculum according to the Teacher's direction
Keep the classroom clean and inviting
Assist with individual and/or group activities to stimulate growth of the children in social, emotional and academic areas
Supervise classroom as directed by the Lead Teacher
Assist in the supervision of the playground and lunchtime
Assist during snack time and in keeping the classroom clean
Wear District-designated attire in a presentable manner during assigned work hours.
Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
