Job DetailsJob Location: Hospital - Loma Linda, CA 92354Salary Range: $46.00 - $50.72 HourlyThe Specialty Nurse Educator is a registered nurse with clinical experience and expertise in a particular area of specialty for which they are responsible to provide quality nursing education and training. This educator functions as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource to the clinical team, and collaborates with other members of the management, education, and LIP team to identify and address staff learning needs in a competent and cost-effective manner. The Specialty Nurse Educator reports to the Director of Staff Education and Chief Nursing Office (CNO) and cooperates with other clinical educators, and members of the patient care team to enhance the clinical preparation and competence of nurses in specific areas of specialty care such as pediatric oncology, cardiac, neonatal care, etc. throughout the hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the organization strategic plan, the goals and direction of the quality assurance performance improvement process, and activities.QualificationsRequirements: • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license is required • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Assigned on hire – RQI) • Minimum of five (5) years of acute pediatric clinical experience preferred • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a specified area of nursing practice in pediatrics • Minimum of one (1) year experience providing clinical education to nurses in the particular area of specialty hired to provide • Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds without assistance • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Knowledge/Skill: • Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times • Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC (hospital, nursing care center, and laboratory) accreditation requirements as applicable to job • Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job • Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills • Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently • Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately
