This role focuses on leveraging personal experience and knowledge to foster a supportive environment that encourages recovery, resilience, and personal growth. Key Responsibilities: - Offer one-on-one peer support to clients, sharing personal experiences to inspire hope and motivation. - Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement individualized recovery plans. - Facilitate group sessions that promote mutual support and shared experiences among clients. - Assist clients in identifying and accessing community resources and services to aid in their recovery journey. - Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the organization and the broader community. - Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress. - Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in peer support and behavioral health. - Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all clients. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in peer support or related field is preferred. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mental health or substance use recovery setting. - Personal experience with mental health or substance use challenges and demonstrated recovery. - Experience working in a team-oriented environment, preferably within behavioral health services. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members. - Ability to provide empathetic support and establish trust with individuals facing mental health or substance use challenges. - Proficiency in documenting client interactions and maintaining accurate records. - Knowledge of community resources and services available for mental health and substance use recovery. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively. - Basic computer skills, including the use of email and electronic health records systems.
