Apprentice Install Technician – Rossmönster
Longmont, CO · Full-time, on-site · $25-27/hour
Every Rossmönster vehicle has cabinetry, metalwork, and fiberglass that have to stay solid and quiet through thousands of miles of mountain passes and washboard roads. As our Apprentice Install Technician, you'll help put it all in.
You'll install cabinets, metal components, and fiberglass in custom vans and truck campers, and make precise cuts in the vehicles themselves, working alongside experienced install technicians who will teach you the trade.
This is an entry-level role with hands-on training and a real path into installation and production. If you're good with your hands, sweat the details, and want to see your work roll out the shop door as an adventure vehicle, we want to hear from you.
About Rossmönster
Rossmönster started in 2010 as a custom woodworking shop and has grown into a builder of premium adventure vans and overland trucks, including the Havn, Skye, and Baja lines. Our team of woodworkers, engineers, electricians, and outdoor enthusiasts builds from a 45,000-square-foot facility in Longmont, Colorado. Woodworking is where we started, and craftsmanship is still at the heart of every build.
What You'll Do
- Install cabinets. Fit cabinets into van and truck camper conversions, making sure every one is aligned, tight, and structurally sound.
- Work with metal. Cut, drill, and fit metal components, brackets, and mounts.
- Install fiberglass. Trim, fit, and install fiberglass components to each vehicle.
- Cut into the vehicle. Make precise cuts in vehicle bodies and panels for windows, vents, fans, and other components.
- Read the plans. Work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand layout and installation.
- Get it right the first time. Inspect your own work and make adjustments so every build passes QC on the first pass.
- Work safely and as a team. Run hand and power tools safely, follow PPE and shop safety practices, and pitch in with the production team to hit deadlines.
What You Bring
- Basic experience with hand and power tools
- The ability to read a tape measure accurately and work to tight tolerances
- A detail-oriented mindset: you notice a gap, a misaligned door, or a rough edge and fix it before moving on
- A willingness to learn and take feedback
- Reliability and punctuality
- Comfort standing, kneeling, and working in tight vehicle interiors, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Nice to Have
- Shop class, trade school, woodworking, metalworking, or fiberglass experience (hobby projects count)
- Experience reading blueprints or technical drawings
- Familiarity with vans, RVs, or vehicle conversions
- A love of the outdoors, vans, or overlanding
