Viridian Staffing'sClient is looking for an experienced Accounting and Finance Leader to become astart-up Controller for a fast-growingCannabis Operation.  The position is based in downtown Los Angeles, California, and on-site work would be required the first couple of months of the assignment, but then could move to a hybrid (3 days in office 2 days out) arrangement.

As the Controller, you'llbe able to use your entrepreneurial spirit and your desire to greatlycontribute to the success of the accounting/finance function by wearingmultiple hats.  This role provides youthe opportunity to touch all aspects of Accounting and Finance from thepreparation of financial statements and implementing SOPs to ensure financial& regulatory compliance to performing all cost accounting and managing thechart of accounts. As an integral member of the senior leadership team, youwill have specific responsibility for the development of financial strategiesby forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements, identifyingmonetary resources, and developing action plans.  You will facilitate cross-departmentalrelationships and will work on special accounting/finance projects to help thecompany achieve results. You bring with you experience in accounting software,such as Quickbooks online, that has assisted you in preparing complex journalentries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and in the preparation ofannual audits.  In previous roles, youhave successfully managed and maintained cost, financial, and managerialAccounting systems.  You have previous experience leading the managementand coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for a licensed cannabiscompany, including the preparation of the quarterly and annual financialstatements.  This is a start-up CFOposition, so in addition to your strategic responsibilities, you must also havea 'roll-up-you-sleeves' attitude and be willing to do tasks such as A/P, A/R,collections, payroll, etc. 

If you have abachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree (MBApreferred), combined with a minimum of 8 years' senior financial leadershipexperience, preferably within an early stage growth, entrepreneurialorganization, this could be the right position for you. You also must bringwith you experience in FP&A.  Youhave a successful track record and expertise in identifying and driving valuein an organization, as well as a reputation for being a trusted businessadvisor who fosters strategic organizational improvement and success. You areknown for being an excellent people manager and enjoy coaching and mentoring,while also rolling up your sleeves to show your direct reports how toaccomplish objectives. You have the ability to communicate financial analyticsin a clear and concise manner and you are highly capable of leading complexnegotiations. You have a strong interest in overall business operations, andyou are a big-picture thinker who is comfortable and effective working both ata strategic and a tactical level.
