PGI Foods is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Quality team in Lowell, MA. In this hands-on position, you'll perform product testing, monitor production processes, and help ensure our soups, sauces, and specialty food products meet established quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Control Technician, you'll help ensure our products are safe, consistent, and produced according to company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect product samples and perform quality testing, including Brix, pH, viscosity, and other analytical tests.
  • Conduct in-process and finished-product inspections to verify quality and consistency.
  • Review batch records and production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify non-conforming products and place materials on quality hold when necessary.
  • Perform sanitation verification, environmental monitoring, and allergen testing.
  • Monitor production areas for temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and finished products for compliance with specifications.
  • Review product labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Document quality results, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Production and Quality teams to investigate quality issues and support continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Flexibility to work either scheduled shift based on production needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety programs.
  • Experience performing food quality testing or laboratory procedures.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
