The Mainstay United Program provides residential, behavioral, and independent living skills support through a rehabilitative model for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The program specializes in supporting individuals with a history of problematic sexual behavior through clinically informed practices integrated into daily living supports. Using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches, Mainstay United promotes community safety, risk reduction, increased independence, and personal growth.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support (as applicable), and household tasks.
  • Promote independence, personal choice, and self-advocacy in everyday activities.
  • Support individuals in developing life skills that enhance their ability to live successfully in the community.
  • Encourage participation in social, recreational, vocational, and community activities.
  • Build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with individuals served.
  • Provide emotional support, encouragement, and companionship.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress, and incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, families, and community partners.
  • Follow all organizational, state, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass required background checks and motor vehicle record screenings
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to supporting individuals with disabilities

Preferred

  • Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, human services, or a related field
  • Postsecondary education in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire

Schedule

  • Per Diem
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs
  • Per diem employees are required to work a minimum of one 8-hour shift per pay period
  • Weekend and holiday availability may be needed based on program requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout a residential setting
  • Ability to participate in community activities and transportation support
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
