The Noncertified Dialysis Nurse provides specialized care to patients undergoing dialysis treatments, ensuring their safety, comfort, and overall well-being. You will work closely with nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ health status and monitor vital signs before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
- Administer dialysis treatments according to established protocols and individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis processes, diet, and medication management.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all care provided and any changes in patient condition.
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and safety protocols to prevent complications.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Participate in staff training and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills.
Other Functions:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.Â
- Two years' experience with administering hemodialysis treatments
- Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.
