Description

  

The  Grants Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of grant funding to maximize income from foundations and government grants for the support of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO). This position will develop strategies to increase grant funding and create a plan and timeline for all GSNEO grant solicitations, research new grant opportunities, establish and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, write/edit grant proposals, review all grant proposals before submission, generate/manage reporting on the status of grant funding, and other project management. The Director of Grants Management will work closely with other department heads to gather information, refine the grant process, and educate and train other staff. This position will coordinate closely with the other members of the Fund Development team.

Requirements

  

· Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Marketing/Communications or related field or experience commensurate with degree

· Minimum 5 years’ experience of successful research, writing and obtaining grants

· Strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking, and relationship building

· Project management skills: ability to prioritize the strategic plan of the council and execute into tangible actions

· Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers

· Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.

· Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills

· Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary

· Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines, self-starter

· Thorough understanding of local markets

· Commitment to inclusiveness

· Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred

· Ability to travel throughout council as needed

· Knowledge of basic accounting practices and nonprofit administration
