Macon AIM is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering families and breaking barriers through a holistic self-sufficiency program. Our paid internship offers hands-on experience in case management, community outreach, and nonprofit operations. Interns will support families in achieving stability by connecting them to resources, assisting with administrative tasks, and participating in collaborative care with local partners. This role is ideal for students passionate about social services, community development, or nonprofit leadership. Interns will gain valuable skills in client support, team collaboration, and service coordination, helping build brighter futures for families in Macon-Bibb.Â
 Description of ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Assist with intake interviews and client assessmentsÂ
• Support case managers in developing and tracking individualized service plansÂ
• Help coordinate referrals to community partners and servicesÂ
• Maintain accurate and confidential client recordsÂ
• Update client’s hard copy files as needed and file awayÂ
• Assist in planning and facilitating workshops, events, and resource fairsÂ
• Conduct follow-up calls and check-ins with clientsÂ
• Support data entry and reporting for program outcomesÂ
• Help identify resources for client needs such as housing, employment, or childcareÂ
• Provide general administrative support as needed, including answering phone calls, making copies, and assisting with day-to-day office tasks.Â
• Complete the volunteer intake and required training process for The Methodist Home for Children & YouthÂ
Qualifications/CompetenciesÂ
• Currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Marketing, or a related fieldÂ
• Strong communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
• Passion for community service and helping families achieve self-sufficiencyÂ
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrityÂ
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)Â
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skillsÂ
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamÂ
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to attend occasional off-site eventsÂ
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populationsÂ
Pay Rate: $15/hr - Must have a Federal Work-Study Award
