Digital Engagement Officer

Job Description:

A Digital Engagement Officer will make connections with alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends through digital and traditional phone outreach. This is both a public relations and fundraising job with two major components – making phone calls from our call center on the Macon campus, and creating personalized video messages to send to constituents through an online portal. The job lasts from September through April. Both federal work study and regular wage (non-work study) students may apply.

Responsibilities include:

  • Send texts, emails, and video messages on behalf of Mercer to engage constituents and advance its mission
  • Record personalized video messages for University constituents by following scripts while sharing your own positive experience at Mercer
  • Contact current and prospective donors by phone to update contact information and ask for financial support for the University
  • Present a positive image of the University while being a reflection of the University’s mission at all times

Excellent verbal and customer service skills are required. Successful applicants will be able to present themselves and the University in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner and be able to ask for contributions to Mercer. Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information is essential. Must work at least one three-hour calling shift per week in addition to remote work creating videos. Interviews will be conducted and paid training will be provided.
