Market Cashier

Position Summary

Café Baristas are essential team members who deliver an exceptional first impression for our guests. They are responsible for preparing and serving coffee and espresso drinks, ensuring accurate orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the café area, and supporting the broader restaurant team to deliver a high-quality guest experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, and other café beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Accurately take and fulfill guest orders while allowing customization as requested.
• Maintain the café area, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels at all times.
• Assist with light food preparation and plating as required.
• Restock beverage and food items throughout the shift to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently.
• Interact with guests in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Support other restaurant and hotel staff as needed to enhance guest experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience making and serving coffee beverages is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills with a team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to learn new drink recipes and beverage preparation techniques.
• Positive, self-driven attitude with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and transport items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and stocked work environment.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional café and hotel environment. Baristas use standard restaurant equipment such as POS systems, commercial glassware, plateware, and beverage preparation equipment. Work may require moving through kitchen and café areas. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
