Business Analyst (Malta)

We are looking for a Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business operations and technology. The successful candidate will analyse business processes, understand stakeholder requirements, work with operational data and translate business needs into clear, practical solutions.

This is a hands-on role covering business analysis, process improvement, ERP systems, data and reporting, automation, testing and digital transformation.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, commercially aware and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Engage with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs, challenges and reporting requirements.
  
• Gather, analyse and document business, functional and data requirements.
  
• Translate complex or unclear requests into clear, structured and testable requirements.
  
• Map As-Is and To-Be processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  
• Develop process maps, business rules, acceptance criteria and solution specifications.
  
• Act as the link between business users, IT teams and external suppliers.
  

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify manual, duplicated, paper-based and inefficient processes suitable for improvement or automation.
  
• Define workflow and automation requirements and support implementation.
  
• Assess business benefits, effort, risks and dependencies associated with proposed improvements.
  
• Identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve business workflows and productivity.
  

Data, Reporting & ERP

• Query and validate operational data using SQL or equivalent tools.
  
• Investigate data discrepancies and reconcile reporting outputs.
  
• Define reporting requirements, KPIs, metrics, business rules and data definitions.
  
• Support dashboards, reporting datasets and business intelligence initiatives.
  
• Work with ERP and operational systems to identify improvements and system requirements.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP is advantageous.
  

Testing & Implementation

• Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  
• Conduct functional and data testing of delivered solutions.
  
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
  
• Document defects, track resolutions and confirm solutions meet requirements.
  
• Prepare user guidance and support adoption of new systems and processes.
  

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain clear documentation of requirements, processes, data logic and business rules.
  
• Support data quality, governance and information security standards.
  
• Identify and escalate risks, issues and data-quality concerns.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement across business processes and digital solutions.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, IT, Data or a related discipline.
  
• 3–5 years' experience in Business Analysis, Digital Solutions, Systems Analysis, Data or Process Improvement.
  
• Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  
• Strong process analysis and requirements-definition skills.
  
• Working knowledge of SQL or an equivalent data-query tool.
  
• Experience with ERP or core operational systems.
  
• Experience with testing, UAT and acceptance criteria.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  
• Excellent written and verbal English.
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  
• Able to translate technical and data concepts into clear business language.
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  

Advantageous

• Power BI or equivalent BI/reporting platform.
  
• Power Automate, Power Apps or other workflow automation tools.
  
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another major ERP.
  
• SharePoint / Microsoft 365 solutions.
  
• Data modelling or reporting dataset design.
  
• Practical experience with AI-assisted business tools or automation.
  
• Agile, Scrum or other structured delivery methodologies.
  
• Experience working within a multinational or multi-site organisation.
