Budget ControllerÂ
Greencastle Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented financial leader who takes pride in keeping complex programs on budget and in front of hard numbers. As a Budget Controller, you'll bring your military-honed discipline and accountability to the finances of client engagements and our internal operations, giving executives the clear, accurate picture they need to make decisions.Â
WHAT YOU'LL DOÂ
As a Budget Controller, you'll partner with engagement leads and client finance teams to:Â
- Build and manage budgets: Developing project and engagement budgets, setting cost baselines, and tracking spend against them so initiatives stay financially soundÂ
- Find variances early: Running monthly variance analysis, identifying the drivers behind overruns or underspend, and recommending corrective actionÂ
- Forecast with confidence: Producing rolling forecasts and estimates-at-completion that give leadership an accurate view of where budgets are headingÂ
- Strengthen financial controls: Designing and enforcing approval workflows, reconciliations, and cost-allocation processes that hold up to auditÂ
- Report what matters: Delivering clear, decision-ready financial reporting to executives and clients, with the story behind the numbersÂ
HOW YOU'LL GROWÂ
Beyond day-to-day work, Budget Controllers at Greencastle:Â
- Receive direct mentorship from senior leaders and Managing Directors who've built careers across military service, corporate finance, and consultingÂ
- Get exposure across all four service delivery options, seeing how financial controls work in each disciplineÂ
- Build toward Senior Budget Controller and Finance Manager roles through a transparent, merit-based promotion track (see compensation progression below)Â
- Get dedicated time to give back to the veteran community as part of the job, not as an add-onÂ
