Job Overview

We are seeking a collaborative outpatient occupational therapist specializing in lymphedema therapy to join us at Fairview Clinic in Maple Grove! 

 

Our rehab teams partner to provide outpatient, multi-specialty therapy services to the northwest Twin Cities metro area. The preferred candidate will be trained and experienced in lymphedema, but where lymphedema experience is limited, Fairview offers mentoring and development opportunities for professional growth. In collaboration with patients and families, the occupational therapist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes.

  • FTE: 0.3, authorized for 24 hours per pay period.
  • Schedule: Wednesday, 8-10 hours and/or Saturday mornings, 8:00am - 12:00pm.
  • There may be opportunities for increased FTE in the near future, depending on department needs.  

Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

 

As an academic health system with residency and fellowship programs and a rehab-focused clinical quality team, we have a collaborative culture that is centered on learning with an emphasis on evidence based, patient-centered care. Rehab’s continuing education program offers 40+ continuing education courses per year at no cost to employees and further supports numerous external CE courses each year.

Required Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapy (OT) licensure in the State of Minnesota 
  • Training and Certification in Complete Decongestive Therapy (examples: Guenter Klose (Lemer Lymphedema Services), Chikly, Casley- Smith, Vodder, Norton School of Lymphatic studies etc. and
  • Lymphedema Association of North America Certification (LANA) or in-process and
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.A./M.S. in Occupational Therapy
  • 1+ years of experience in Occupation Therapy
  • 1+ years lymphedema experience 
  • Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
