The pay range for this position is $31.65-$49.45 based on direct and relevant experience. 

The Registered Nurse - Vascular is responsible for assisting radiologists who have been extensively trained in the field of minimally invasive, interventional techniques, to provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for vascular-related conditions. You will help guide patients through their treatment plan in a comfortable, outpatient setting. We specialize in non-surgical solutions that offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time than traditional open surgeries. This is a casual/PRN position working various day shifts during the week, flexible schedule. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(80%) Patient Care

  • Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension
  • Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications
  • Educates patient and family about pre, intra, and post procedure care
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patient
  • Documents patient history and physical assessment for assigned patients
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
  • Monitors and records patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction

(15%) Department Support

  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities
  • Assists in establishing, evaluating and updating patient care standards
  • Maintains and documents maintenance of patient monitoring, laboratory testing equipment, and procedural medications.

(5%) Other Duties and Projects as Assigned

Qualifications

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license, current and in good standing
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in a hospital or clinic
  • Experienced and skilled in starting patient IVs
  • Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
  • Current Tuberculosis (TB) test

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Experience in interventional radiology
  • Experience in moderate conscious sedation
  • Bilingual
