Description

As a member of the Applications Lab Team, the Scientist, Applied Technology position is responsible for preparing fragranced samples in customer bases and conducting any related testing and experiments.  

  • Incorporate fragrance oils into various customer applications, such as candle & wax bases, air care spray and diffuser bases, home care & fabric bases, personal care bases and fine fragrance carriers.
  • Help develop and conduct fragrance experiments.
  • Maintain a laboratory notebook and accurately document all experiments and results in a timely manner. Organize data tables and charts to p resent data. Prepare summaries of work and results to be included in reports.
  • Perform efficacy validation testing on customer projects related to quaternary and/or peroxide EPA registered bases.
  • Conduct evaluations for raw materials used in product bases (new or replacement materials).
  • Facilitate & run stability testing associated with customer projects as needed (UV, HOF, Oven, FT, etc.).
  • Prioritize completion of application requests.
  • Interpret analytical test methods provided by customers.
  • Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment when needed.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work area and practice safe work habits that comply with all laboratory GLPs. 

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field required. 
  • 5-7 years of laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.
  • Proficient in quantitative analysis, data interpretation, and applying analytical principles to drive reporting and decision-making. 
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results – orientation
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to write correspondence and technical reports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
