The Sterile Processing Tech (SPD) is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established Infection Control Practices. 

• Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. 
• Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. 
• Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities.

Shifts: 8 hour shifts, variable start times

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician or Surgical Tech (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department (required)
• Knowledgeable with cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques (required).
• High School Diploma/GED Minimum
