Hourly Pay Range: $19.50–$26.00 per hour

Assist nursing faculty and external stakeholders with maintaining and running the nursing simulation lab. Assist with student success initiatives including simulation, assessment, academic advising, and tutoring when needed.

Major Responsibilities:

Simulation and Skills Laboratory

  • Set up and tear down simulation and laboratory experiences.
  • Maintain simulation equipment and laboratories to support instructional programs.
  • Perform basic programming of simulators for practice scenarios as directed by simulation staff.
  • Assist faculty with simulation scenarios and operation of simulators as needed.
  • Assist with the setup of simulators, equipment, and accessories for special events and activities.
  • Inventory, stock, and maintain supplies in skills and simulation laboratories.
  • Coordinate and schedule the use of simulation and skills laboratories for simulations, skills labs, open labs, student projects, and other approved activities.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of simulation mannequins and other simulation equipment.
  • Participate in professional development activities with healthcare providers and educators to enhance instructional and technical skills and maintain current knowledge in the field.

Nursing Student Support

  • Assist with academic advising, including student course planning.
  • Assist with community outreach activities related to the nursing program.
  • Assist with monitoring students’ academic progress throughout the nursing program.
  • Assist with maintaining student compliance with required clinical documentation.
  • Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Paramedic or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, software, and simulation technology.
  • Ability to effectively operate and maintain simulation equipment and related technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Experience working with simulation equipment, skills laboratories, or healthcare education.
  • Experience working in a nursing or healthcare education environment.
