Your EverydayĀ
- Ensure smooth daily operations of your department/unit.Ā
- Maintain standards of team accountability and delivery of care services by following hospital/nursing policies, infection control/safety/environmental policies,Ā proceduresĀ and standards.Ā
- Round patient care units toĀ ascertainĀ patientsā conditions.Ā
- Coordinate and evaluate servicesĀ renderedĀ by and to all departments during the respective shift.Ā
- Inform leadershipĀ regardingĀ circumstances or situations which have or may haveĀ seriousĀ impact.Ā
- Assess and intervene as needed for physiologic, psychosocial educational and developmental needs of patients and families.Ā
- Serve as a main resource person on all nursing units for the hospital and provide administrative nursing leadership.Ā
- Administer nurse staffing, schedules,Ā utilization, and follow-upĀ appropriate forĀ patient census, acuity level, and special conditions.Ā
- Evaluate and document employeesā performance and communicate information to the appropriate department managers.Ā
- Ensure professional development,Ā participateĀ in planning and in-service education programs or other meetings, seminars, or institutes both internally and externally.Ā
- Maintain communication between other nursing and ancillary departments.Ā
- Evaluate staffing needs and provide support to caregivers ensuring proper staffing matrix, unit-specific needs and employee experience/expertise.Ā
The Must-HavesĀ
Ā
Minimum:Ā
- Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.āÆĀ
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.Ā
- PreviousĀ experience as a charge nurse, clinicalĀ supervisorĀ or nurse manager.Ā
