We specialize in treating patients with a focus on recovery, function, and long-term health. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics, extremity care, sports medicine, non-operative musculoskeletal medicine, or interventional pain management and be comfortable seeing patients via telemedicine platforms.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Phoenix Ortho Injury Spine & Extremity, supporting our South Atlanta region.
This full-time position will provide coverage across our McDonough, Union City, Griffin, and Eastside (Bill Kennedy Way, Atlanta) locations. We are targeting candidates located in or near the Jonesboro/Riverdale area due to its proximity to the assigned coverage locations.
The selected provider must be comfortable traveling between assigned clinic locations based on patient volume, scheduling needs, and operational requirements.
This is primarily an in-office role, though some patients, particularly those in more remote areas, may be seen via telemedicine. Initial onboarding and shadowing will take place in person at our Stone Mountain location.
The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics, extremity-focused care, sports medicine, non-operative musculoskeletal medicine, or interventional pain management and be licensed to practice in Georgia. Experience working with personal injury patients is preferred but not required. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required. Experience with CareCloud EMR is a plus but not mandatory.
This role includes performing in-office procedures such as joint and trigger point injections, which must fall within the provider's authorized scope of practice and applicable credentialing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Develop and manage treatment plans for orthopedic and pain management patients, ensuring optimal care is provided based on the patient's condition.
- Provide patient education on orthopedic conditions, pain management techniques, injury recovery, and self-care strategies.
- Perform in-office procedures such as joint injections and trigger point injections, if appropriately credentialed.
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers and personal injury law firms to ensure comprehensive care for patients involved in accidents or injuries.
- Conduct telemedicine visits to assess and manage patient care remotely, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed in the system.
- Document all patient encounters, treatments, and follow-up plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Review and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and MRIs, and make recommendations for further testing or referrals as needed.
- Assist with creating and reviewing patient care protocols for ongoing treatment, rehabilitation, and pain management.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure patient needs are met, and provide guidance on treatment options and progress.
- Participate in future quarterly APP check-ins or training to maintain consistency in protocols and documentation.
- Keep abreast of the latest practices and guidelines in orthopedics, pain management, and regenerative medicine.
- Provide clinical coverage across the McDonough, Union City, Griffin, and Eastside locations based on operational and patient care needs.
- Travel between assigned South Atlanta clinic locations as required to maintain continuity of patient care.
- Collaborate with clinic leadership to coordinate schedules and ensure appropriate provider coverage throughout the South Atlanta region.

- Experience in orthopedics or interventional pain management is required.
- Experience with personal injury patients is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

- Ability to conduct telemedicine visits effectively and professionally.
- Additional applicable licenses in Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Illinois, and/or Mississippi are preferred. Willingness and ability to obtain multi-state licensure will eventually be expected as telemedicine services expand.
- Must meet applicable Georgia licensing, scope-of-practice, and credentialing requirements to perform in-office procedures such as joint injections and TPIs.
- Strong clinical knowledge of orthopedic conditions, pain management techniques, and non-surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
