Summary of Position
The Oracle Integration Analyst is a full-time, temporary position responsible for designing, coordinating, implementing, and supporting integrations critical to Allegheny College's transition from Ellucian Colleague to Oracle Student Management. As a member of Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Oracle Student implementation team, the analyst will work closely with campus functional offices, enterprise system owners, and implementation partners to ensure reliable and secure data exchange across institutional applications.
This hands-on technical role owns the institutional integration inventory, source-to-target mappings, interface specifications, development coordination, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational handoff. The analyst will work with APIs, file-based interfaces, middleware and vendor-supported integration methods, while supporting dependencies across the student lifecycle and connected finance, human resources, identity, learning, advising, reporting, and other campus systems. The successful candidate combines integration engineering experience with strong analytical, documentation, and collaborative skills.
This full-time temporary position is aligned with the Oracle Student implementation timeline. As the College evaluates its long-term enterprise integration and Student support model, the position may be considered for longer-term employment based on institutional need. Continued employment is not guaranteed.

- Define integration patterns including APIs, event-driven exchanges when supported, scheduled file transfers, and vendor-managed connectors.
- Identify integration risks, sequencing dependencies, environment needs, and cutover requirements; escalate issues promptly.
- Promote maintainable, supportable interfaces and minimize unnecessary point-to-point customization.
Â
Integration Development, Configuration & Data Exchange
- Build or coordinate delivery of secure, reliable interfaces and student-related data flows.
- Develop, configure, or oversee integrations using Oracle-supported interfaces, REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, middleware, and structured data formats as appropriate.
- Create and validate source-to-target mappings, transformations, field-level business rules, reference data, and error-handling logic.
- Partner with vendors and implementation teams to review design artifacts, code/configuration, and technical deliverables for completeness and quality.
- Work with teams supporting identity and access, LMS, student services, finance, HR, reporting, and other affected applications.
- Coordinate interface credentials, secure transfer methods, service-account access, environments, schedules, and operational controls.
- Support the transition from legacy Ellucian integrations, including parallel runs, reconciliations, and retirement of superseded feeds.
- Apply data quality, logging, reconciliation, and recovery practices to reduce integration failures and downstream impacts.
Â
Integration Testing, Cutover & Operational Readiness
- Validate end-to-end exchanges and prepare interfaces for a controlled production transition.
- Develop and execute unit, system, end-to-end, regression, volume, and negative-path integration test plans.
- Validate records, transformations, timing, duplicate prevention, exception handling, and downstream reconciliation with functional owners.
- Track integration defects, coordinate fixes and retesting, and maintain evidence of test outcomes and sign-off.
- Create cutover runbooks, interface activation schedules, fallback procedures, and post-cutover verification checklists.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, incident escalation, retry/reprocessing, and ownership procedures for production interfaces.
- Document interface designs, configurations, support runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for the Enterprise Systems team.
- Support hypercare and post-go-live stabilization, investigate failures, and coordinate corrective actions.
Â
Enterprise Integration Support, Governance & Collaboration
- Support the sustainability, security, and governance of the College’s integration ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Systems, infrastructure, security, vendors, and business owners to troubleshoot production data flows.
- Apply FERPA, least-privilege access, encryption, secure credential handling, audit logging, and College security standards.
- Participate in integration change control, release planning, version management, and impact assessments.
- Promote agreed-upon authoritative data sources, data definitions, interface ownership, and support accountability.
- Cross-train ITS colleagues and share knowledge to reduce key-person dependency after implementation.
- Communicate integration health, technical risks, decisions, and milestones clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Support related enterprise system enhancements and integration improvements as assigned.
