Overview

The StAAR Center provides disability accommodations and academic support to Tufts students within the schools of Arts & Sciences, Engineering, SMFA, and the Fletcher School.  

What You'll Do

This is a part-time position at 16 hours per week and a 9-month academic year position that follows the undergraduate academic calendar and is expected to run from September through May. The position is in-person.
 
The Testing Administrator will support the administration of testing and note-taking accommodations. This position works closely with professional staff to ensure that accommodation services are delivered efficiently, accurately, and confidentially. The role is ideal for an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in supporting student success. 

 

  • Support accommodated testing operations, including exam preparation, proctoring, secure exam handling, and communication with students, faculty, and academic departments.
  • Coordinate note-taking accommodations by recruiting and supporting peer notetakers, tracking participation, and maintaining confidential records.
  • Support the Accommodations Coordinator in obtaining alternative text versions of student materials as needed.
  • Assist with accommodation-related administrative processes, data management, and routine communications.
  • Provide occasional front desk coverage and support special projects and other office initiatives as assigned.

  • Ability to work in person at the StAAR Center's main office in Dowling Hall (Medford campus)
  • Availability to work approximately 16 hours per week
  • Availability to work evening hours during the academic year
  • Availability to work in person
  • Exceptional reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage private student information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with professional staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience working with students, higher education administration, accessibility services, or individuals with disabilities

Pay Range

Minimum $23.00, Midpoint $27.35, Maximum $31.70
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
