Occupational Therapist

 

 

Setting: Acute Care

Schedule: Weekday, Weekend, and Holiday Per Diem (PRN) Coverage

Compensation: $55.00/Hour

 

 

NovaCare Rehabilitation at Carroll Hospital, in partnership with LifeBridge Health, is seeking experienced Occupational Therapists (OTs) for local PRN/per diem opportunities in Westminster, MD.

 

 

Carroll Hospital is a 153-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and we are building a local pool of experienced inpatient OTs to provide as-needed coverage for vacations, sick leave, and other staffing needs.

 

Please note:

  • Previous inpatient OT experience is required.
  • PRN/per diem positions do not have a guaranteed schedule.
  • Coverage opportunities are offered on an as-needed basis.
  • The hospital operates year-round, weekdays 8 AM- 4:30 PM, including most holidays.

This is a great opportunity for acute care experienced clinicians seeking flexible inpatient rehabilitation work while supporting a collaborative, well-established therapy team.

 

 

 

 

Position Summary

 

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Best Practices: Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
  • Build Relationships: Enhance, develop and expand relationships with referral sources and maintain a positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
  • Collaborative Approach: Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
  • High Standard of Care: Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how OTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
  • Innovative Opportunities: Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Leadership: Supervise and delegate occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
  • Personalized Treatment: Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school for occupational therapy
  • State Occupational Therapist license (or license eligible)
  • CPR certification
  • Valid state driver’s license
