The essential job responsibilities of the Engineer are to apply established engineering principle to the planning/design of additions/alterations to communication/transmission systems, electric substations, water production facilities and various civil engineering projects, DEPENDING ON AREA OF WORK CONCENTRATION. 

Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Engineer 3 role, you must:                            
Have a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, depending on expertise required.
Successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job.    

If there are no qualified bidders for an Engineer 3, candidates can be considered for an Engineer 2 or an Engineer 1. 

                                                                                 
As per MLGW policy, any employee hired on or after January 3, 2005, who does not reside within the boundaries of Shelby County, Tennessee at the time of employment will be required to establish their residence and live and maintain their residence within the boundaries of Shelby County, Tennessee within six (6) months of their hire date. Failure to adhere to this procedure shall be cause for discharge.
