Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Morgan Steel LLC - Memphis, TN, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.00Hourly, Job Shift: Any, Job Purpose:- The Laser Operator at MORGAN STEEL LLC is responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to ensure precise and efficient cutting of metal materials. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in the production process.Key Responsibilities:- Operate laser cutting machines to process metal materials according to detailed specifications and work orders.- Interpret and understand technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate cutting and shaping of materials.- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.- Monitor the cutting process to ensure the quality and precision of the finished product, making adjustments as necessary.- Collaborate with team members to optimize production schedules and meet project deadlines.- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and company policies.- Record and report production data, including material usage and machine performance, to support continuous improvement efforts.- Assist in the training and development of junior operators to enhance team capabilities and productivity.Qualifications: Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certification in laser technology or a related field is preferred.Required Experience:- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating laser cutting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.- Proven track record of working in a steel fabrication environment, demonstrating familiarity with materials and processes.- Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.Required Skills and Abilities:- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laser cutting machinery, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.- Strong understanding of laser technology and its applications in metal cutting and fabrication.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to meet production deadlines and quality standards.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in cutting operations.- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and supervisors regarding production needs and equipment status.- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine operation interface.- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
