Position Overview:
The Campus Services Assistant is a student role designed to support the Public Safety department through community outreach and engagement activities. This is not a security officer position and does not involve incident response. Instead, it focuses on fostering a safer, more informed campus environment through education, outreach, and assisting with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Outreach and Education: Organize and conduct safety awareness programs for students, faculty, and staff. Topics may include first aid and CPR awareness, active shooter and fire safety, the use of the Raven Safe app, and dorm living conditions and cleanliness.
- Event Coordination: Help organize small safety events and workshops to engage the campus community and promote a culture of safety and preparedness.
- Support and Visibility: Assist in promoting Public Safety resources and services, ensuring that students are aware of available tools and support.
- Limited Dispatcher Duties (If Needed): On occasion, may assist with basic dispatch duties such as relaying non-sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current student eligible for a Federal Work-Study (undergraduate level) student
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to confidentiality; must sign a confidentiality agreement.
- No access to restricted student, faculty, or staff information.
- Will not be involved in Title IX matters or any sensitive investigations.
Compensation:
- Position is compensated through a Federal Work-Study allocation, depending on the student’s eligibility.

This role is intended to enhance campus safety culture through proactive education and outreach. The Campus Services Assistant will be a visible, positive presence, helping to build a stronger, more informed campus community. They will not have public safety duties but will contribute significantly to our shared mission of a safe and supportive campus.
