Position Overview:Ā Ā 

  • Runs chopper gun to lay down resin and fiberglass used in construction of hull,Ā deckĀ and small parts;Ā maintainsĀ constant laminate thickness as per engineering specsĀ 

  • Controls labor and parts flow in designatedĀ area. May direct team of other laminators.Ā

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

  • Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Ā 

  • SpraysĀ routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface usingĀ a chop gun.Ā 

  • Performs elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools.Ā 

  • MaintainsĀ properĀ millage on partsĀ 

  • UtilizationĀ of open mold and vacuum infusion processes.Ā 

  • Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives.Ā 

  • Installs wood and other components into fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.Ā 

  • Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists.Ā 

  • Locates parts by hand or byĀ utilizingĀ detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures.Ā 

  • Sanding of fiberglass hulls, decks, and small part molds.Ā 

  • AssistĀ with rolling glass when needed.Ā 

  • Ability to Audit departmental work areasĀ 

  • Ability toĀ maintainĀ and adjust resin guns and pumpsĀ 

  • Ā 

WORK ENVIRONMENTĀ 

  • Regularly required to stand (90%), walk, climb, and bend during workday.  Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odorsĀ on a daily basis.  Physical exertion isĀ required.Ā

Experience:Ā 

Ā 

  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of fiberglass lamination instruction experienceĀ required, 3 years preferredĀ 

  • Ability to work with coworkers inĀ close proximityĀ and in aĀ teamĀ environment displaying mutual respectĀ 

  • Ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand EnglishĀ

Safety Requirements:Ā 

  • MustĀ possessĀ the desire and ambition toĀ work safely at all timesĀ and report all hazards to theirĀ SupervisorĀ immediatelyĀ 

  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agenciesĀ 

  • Must be able to wear required personal protectiveĀ equipment whereĀ designated, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.Ā 

  • Must be able to understand and complete the OSHA questionnaire, pass spirometer test, and physically wear a respirator whereĀ requiredĀ 

  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending,Ā climbing stairs, spending working hours on your feet, etc.Ā 

  • Must be able to understand all safety related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety CommitmentĀ

Shift: Must have the availability to work fromĀ 3pm-1:30Ā Monday - Thursday.  Overtime isĀ frequentlyĀ requiredĀ on Friday based on scheduling needs. Sea Ray reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needsĀ evolve.  An hourly premium shift differential is available for this position.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Ā 

TheĀ anticipatedĀ pay range for this position is $21.22-25.80, hourly. Night Shift and Fiberglass premiums also included. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.Ā
