This Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is the heart of our company! As a DSP you could serve in one of our communities and/or our in-home programs. The individuals we serve may need your help with their activities of daily living and to develop social, physical, and emotional skill sets. Specific individual care plans are followed, you will be an extraordinary part of our team as we make a positive impact, one client at a time!  


Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a positive work environment. 

  • Provide comprehensive supervision and engagement of all assigned client(s) according to their individual care plan.

  • Plans and/or facilitates client activities and outings, events, and activity planning to align with the client’s Person Centered Support Plan .

  • Maintain and provide reliable transportation for client(s) based on their care plan. 

  • Maintain personal compliance (current auto insurance with personal liability coverage rates minimums, auto registration, drivers license etc.)

  • Completes all required compliance training on time (including Huddles, SOAR, and CPR training)

  • Completes all required client care documentation on time (carenotes, incident reports, behavior data tracking, medication records, etc.).

  • Is on time and ready to work for all assigned shifts. 

  • Supports clients with activities of daily living (ADL) based on their care plan (bathroom assistance, personal hygiene, eating, etc.).

  • Maintains clear and timely communication to leadership.

  • Updates client’s care team with any and all changes in client’s behaviors, demeanor or any changes that are concerning.

  • Maintains professionalism with clients, co-workers, and client’s care team. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Ability to travel up to 50 miles for shifts as needed. 



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience caring for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or related conditions

  • Patience and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to clear a background check

  • Proficient with technology

  • Written and spoken communication skills (english)
