JOB OVERVIEW

The Theater Spotlight Operator will be responsible for managing and operating spotlights during live performances and events in the Faena Theater. This role requires precision, adaptability, and collaboration with the production team to ensure each performance is perfectly illuminated. You will be an essential part of our backstage team, contributing to the artistic vision and ambiance of our shows.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain spotlight equipment to ensure optimal performance during rehearsals and live events.
  • Follow lighting cues and direction from the Lighting Designer, Stage Manager, or Technical Director.
  • Collaborate with the production team to align spotlight effects with the artistic vision of each performance.
  • Ensure smooth transitions, accurate focus, and consistent lighting intensity throughout the event.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of spotlight equipment, reporting any technical issues promptly.
  • Participate in pre-show rehearsals to familiarize yourself with cues and production requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with lighting and electrical equipment.
  • Assist with other technical aspects of the theater as needed, including setup and teardown of lighting equipment.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.

Ability to remain in stationary position for 8 hours or more. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.

Availability to work a shift schedule: This could include nights, weekends, and holidays. • CPR and First Aid certified. • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects. • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
