You will be part of our Advanced Technology for Surface Transportation business class, supporting the emerging areas of ITS, Lighting, Signalization, and Tolls design, for a diverse range of clients.
 
In the role of ITS Design Engineer, we'll count on you to: 
  • Perform complex traffic design projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of ITS, Lighting, and Signalization final design plans, conceptual design plans, and other design documents
  • Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, but project management is not sole focus of this position
  • Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with Lighting, ITS, and Signalization design
  • Hands-on experience using various CADD tools such as OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and FDOT Connect, and lighting photometric analysis tools, such as AGi32, etc.
  • Experience performing electrical circuit calculations, such as voltage drop and overcurrent protection
  • Experience working with state DOTs, and other local agencies
  • Business development and mentoring skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented
     


Required Qualifications 
 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Detailed hands on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, Autocad and Guide Sign software
  • Detailed hands on experience conducting operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun
  • Detailed hands on experience conducting safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
  • Strong verbal and written skills
