Description

Position Summary:


The Recovery Technician provides direct support and supervision to clients in a recovery treatment setting. This role focuses on ensuring individuals served safety, promoting a structured environment, and supporting individuals served in their recovery journey from substance use and/or mental health conditions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Monitor Individuals Served to ensure safety, well-being, and compliance with program rules.
  2. Ensure thorough searches are done as per search checklist on all individuals upon entry, or reentry to the residential program, and during random searches.
  3. Assists individuals with their daily activities in conjunction with the Treatment Team. 
  4. Maintains all documentation in EHR pertaining to Recovery Technician duties while on shift.
  5. Listen to individual concerns, observe their behavior and report changes in their behaviors to Supervisor and medical staff.
  6. Document Incident Reports for all incidents (fights, medical emergencies, etc.) and inform Supervisor prior to end of shift. Ensure that all incidents are documented in the RT Shift note in EHR.
  7. Familiarize with crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate conflicts in a manner that keeps staff and individuals served safe. If unable to do so in an effective manner, must follow protocol on asking for assistance at a higher level.
  8. Maintains census to ensure accurate location of each individual client.
  9. Update and document inventory and notation on individuals served as applicable. 
  10. Maintains a structured, non-disruptive environment in the House, as well as on outings.
  11. Maintain a clean, safe, and structured living environment by performing hourly inspections of the facility.
  12. Perform room checks and enforce facility guidelines.
  13. Night monitoring as specified by standard operating procedures (SOP) and observe individuals served for contraband usage. 
  14. Escorting individuals inside the facilities or off campus, as needed. 
  15. Transport individuals to CHI and other places as needed and approved by Residential Manager. 
  16. Perform other related duties as assigned by Residential Manager.



Requirements

Education and/or Experience:


High School Diploma or GED required. At least (1) year of related experience required. Experience in direct care, behavioral support, healthcare, residential programs. A valid and active driver license.
