Job DetailsJob Location: Newport, RI 02841Position Type: Full TimePosition title: Material Coordinator Location: Newport, Rhode Island Clearance required: Secret Scope: The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments IAW production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.   Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Oversee receipt, inspection, and processing of materials; verify part number, count, and condition against Navy ERP purchase orders. Supervise receipt processing by material type: MILSTRIP, Classified/COMSEC, GPC/Contract, goods receipt without reference. Review and approve TDRs, SDRs, PQDRs for damaged/nonconforming materials. Ensure maintenance of open orders, bills of lading, WMFs, completed files. Oversee Navy ERP induction, WMFs, chain of custody forms, KSDs (DD-250, DD-1348, DD-1149). Supervise storage operations per Government Location Schema; ensure proper storage by Condition Code and NSN. Oversee warehouse maintenance: re-warehousing, stock rotation, shelf-life management, storage aid maintenance. Ensure COSIS compliance; review reports of lost/damaged material, discrepancies, hazardous material. Coordinate MHE operations; support MHE tasks as needed. Document lessons learned and implement process improvements. Supervise inventory count generation in ERP per Government Inventory Plan or ad-hoc requests. Oversee physical inventory counts and labeling of OM&S-R and NWCF-SM material. Review LX17 Inventory Reports prior to Government submission. Reconcile discrepancies identified during physical inventory. Supervise WMF processing, material pulls, ERP issuing transactions (221, 281, 551), and delivery staging. Monitor workload and stock availability; communicate constraints to Government Warehouse Lead. Ensure proper disposition documentation: Bills of Lading, DD-1149, DD-1348, Demilitarization Certificates. Oversee customer service operations via phone, email, fax, and in-person. Supervise shipment status investigations; ensure root cause identification and lessons learned capture. Review and approve quarterly summary reports with process improvement recommendations. Ensure proper use of Navy ERP, WebFLIS, and Haystack. QualificationsQualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Five (5) years of demonstrated warehouse experience performing materiel management functions including materiel receipt at a warehouse, issue, Care of Supply in Storage (COSIS), and reconcile discrepancies identified during physical inventory. Supervised 10+ warehouse employees. Desired Qualifications/Experience: Demonstrated experience working in DoD Systems Applications and Products (SAP) for warehouse management. Navy ERP warehouse operations. MILSTRIP, NAVSEA Warehouse Process Guide. Logistics documentation: WMFs, DD-1149, DD-1348, DD-250, Bills of Lading. Discrepancy reporting: TDRs, SDRs, PQDRs. SUBSAFE/LEVEL I/DSS-SOC material handling. Preferred Certification: OSHA forklift certification (up to 15K lbs capacity, Class I-V and VII).
