The Sr. Engineering Technician works independently to support the Completions team (multiple Engineers, Superintendents, Field, Management). Will be responsible for QC data accuracy, KPI reports, post-job analytics, and general support. Applies extensive discipline specific knowledge and experience to engineering tasks and projects. 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

  • Extract and analyze data and reporting from various internal systems includingWellview,Spotfire, SAP, andthird partywell data, including state regulatory and production data,Enverusand SM Energy Data Warehouses
  • Create andmaintainnumerousreports and spreadsheets for Completions operations as well asmaintainingperformance data
  • Assistengineers in the preparation of procedures, technical reports, analyses, and presentations as needed (may require advanced spreadsheet applications and skills)
  • Coordinate data retrieval, loading, manipulation, and management for use by groups other than engineering teams/departments
  • Provide supporting data via research from public sources such as IHS and regulatory agencies
  • Perform moderate calculations and preliminary analyses of data in support of engineering studies
  • Provide basic technical support for Spotfire and other visualization tools
  • Conduct business safely and with the highest ethical standards
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Able to work independently and make a positive impact on the team

Computer/Software Applications

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Wellview, Spotfire (datalinks, dashboard creation / maintenance), SQL.

Core Competencies

Must demonstrate attention to detail, able to maintain data integrity, strong communication, and ability to work well with teammates. Ability to mentor other techs or other administrative staff.

Typical Education

Technical associate degree or related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred
