Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics, the Swim Instructor is responsible for the high quality lessons and participant engagement. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the Values and Purpose of Greater Midland.Â
Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintain vigilant supervision of participants, ensure water safety rules are followed, and model safe behaviors.
- Ensure high quality programs that are result-based driven, with proper planning and engaging lesson plans.
- Administer data collection of participants and progress reporting throughout the program.Â
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland Staff and Volunteers.
- Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
- Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.
- Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values. 
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum age of 16
- Exemplify passion for aquatic safety and swim skill development
- Experience working with youth (preferred)
- Experience in an aquatic setting (preferred)
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Instructors must have strong swimming skills, and the ability to safely assist others in an aquatic environment.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday- 4pm-7pm
Saturday- 8:45am-11:30am
